  1. Hi

A video I uploaded to youtube has clips from various sources. All the clips from one source (Source 1) show blurred results. Clips from all the other sources looked fine.

All the clips are 1920x1080 and everything looks good when exported from Davinci Resolve.

I’ve tried uploading several times with the same result. And I checked several hours after uploading to give youtube processing plenty of time.
Searching google suggested that differences between the specs of clips can cause trouble on YouTube, so I’ve now uploaded another version of the video using only clips from source 1. *(The Davinci project is set to the same resolution as all the clips)

But all the footage is blurred.

This all seems kind of impossible to me and I've never had a problem like it on other videos!

    Can anyone help please?

    Thanks
    Andy

    Link to the video?

You either used incorrect deinterlacing when rendering, or you uploaded interlaced and left it to Youtube to deinterlace, which it does poorly.

Allow me to state the obvious (maybe not to you) but.....

How can we possibly help if we do not see the issue so.....

    1. Upload as a direct attachment to a reply an example of the original video from source 1.

    2. Provide a link to the youtube result.

Crank it up to 2560x1440. YT will then encode your video in VP9. See if that produces an acceptable result on your source-1 clips. 1440 triggers VP9.

Why not going all the way up to 7680x4320? After all, you are paying for the unlimited internet, you should get your money worth.

Stop being an idiot. I gave the reason why 1440 is better. You may be posting on here just for fun; I'm trying to help people.

If I were posting just for fun, I would have posted snippets from TechTVusa YT comments. They are hilarious, albeit repetitive.

You think that blowing up the resolution beyond its native size and forcing Youtube to use VP9 will markedly improve the quality of a video - any video? You don't even know what the problem is. There have been neither YT link nor source clips presented. All that is known is that "all the clips from one source (Source 1) show blurred results. Clips from all the other sources looked fine". Have you joined the club "Moar pixels cure everything"?

  8. Thanks for your interest folks. I appreciate it. Sorry I didn’t give you the details you need.

I’ve attached a chunk of the Davinci original which includes a couple of the troublesome ‘balloons’ sequences plus another clip that works fine.

And here’s the link to YouTube’s version of the full video: https://youtu.be/HbTB2SraJQw

I rendered using Davinci’s ‘Master’ settings (Quicktime, H264) but I’ve previously tried their YouTube setting. (I don’t know much about these technicalities.)

I have tried the ‘balloons’ clips at 3840x2160 - the highest resolution available - but that didn’t help. (Not all the clips from other sources are available at that resolution.)

Sorry my friend. But I do not see the issue you describe.

Although I typically view YT at 720p I pushed it it 1080p and there is no disturbance on that sequence.

  11. You're right! Now I'm feeling very stupid. It used to be clearest at 3.14 where the woman's teeth looked as if she had serious dental problems. But not now. I'm trying to think what the hell I've done different - no idea so far.

    Sorry to trouuble you all!
