and i have a panasonic dvd recorder. what i want to do is connect my betamax player to my dvd recorder and tv and play the betmax tape and record to a blank dvd disc. the betamax tape is of my grandfather after the war it is a family video but it was recorded on a old betamax tape in the early 1970s. it was handed down to the family of mine so i thought about buying a betamax player so i bought one of them first then i bought a panasonic dvd recorder. i know it can be done cos i have seen some people on the internet chargeing money to do the job but a betamax tape onto a dvd disc so i know it can be done. what i want to know is what is the rest of the stuff i need is it just cables
my panasonic dvd recorder has a hdmi port and some other ports on that the betmax player has a sdi port for the video and there is a other port for the audio. so would i just need some cables to do this i really need help with this.

Assuming that you've read the operating manual from both machines, searched the net, watched relevant videos on youtube, obtained Sony VMC-330 adapter from 26-pin multiconnector to RCA, what else remains unclear?

  3. Whether you are using the VMC-330 dongle or the SL-TT1 Tuner/Timer unit for output you will need a BNC->RCA adapter. (It's analog composite, not SDI, they just use the same cable/connector) so you can connect it to one of the video inputs on the dvd-recorder. The SL-F1 VCR itself only has an antenna output on it on it's own which you don't really want to use since it will give lower quality.
