I'm looking for recommendations on a good quality USB capture card for capturing VHS tapes.

I have a nice VCR player with TBC and S-Video out.

I'm having trouble determining the best choice in the sea of cards out there on Amazon.

I'm looking for one that I'll be able to use S-video out, and which will work with both my windows machine and my Apple silicon M1 Macbook pro.

Advice and opinions would be much much appreciated.

  2. You have received recommendations for USB devices here. See post#2. What is missing?

Sharc, all of those recommended USB cards only work on windows machines.

I’m looking for one that will preferably work on both windows and Apple silicon, though could settle on one that only works on Apple silicon.

  4. Elgato claim to support both (Drivers). I don't have this device, so don't take it as a recommendation.

    Gee Man !!

You do not exactly help yourself when you add that you want a device that supports Apple when your PC stats, according to your own spec, uses the Win11 OS.

We have many a user that looks for Apple hardware. But very few that go from Windoze to Apple.
