Hi all. I have a large MKV file with 22 chapters. All the chapters have been split using MKVToolNix. So I now have 22 MKA files. However, I am now trying to convert these MKA files to the best quality WAV and also DTS formats. MKVToolNix doesn't seem to permit me to alter the output file to anything other than MKA. The concert soundtrack has DTS-HD MA, DTS, and PCM playback options. Any assistance appreciated here.

Update: I have located a program called Filestar which can take the MKA files, and convert to .DTS in two forms - DTS DCA, which is in stereo, and drops the sample rate down from 96khz to 48khz, and non-reencoded DTS which retains the 6 channel audio at 96khz and has not surprisingly a much larger file size. Both formats then play back in e.g. VLC on the Mac, as does the original MKA file of course.

On a PC there are 2 programs available that can extract elements from a MKV file, video, Audio, subtitles etc etc in their original format ie not MKA. They are MKVCleaver and Inviska MKV Extract, (just checked and this is available for MAC) both are free. I don't know if there are MAC versions but they both work nicely
