Avidemux can't open files through SMB share

Hello, the title pretty much summarize this post. All my movies are on a server and it's a pain in the rear since I need to copy locally every blu-ray remux which are huge files. There must be a way, I can't believe that I'm the only one who've faced this issue. I suppose my permissions are correct since every other app I'm using is able to read and write this SMB share.

Map the share as a lettered drive.

Thank you it's working following this, although it's almost useless as it's taking as much time to open as to copy it locally.
