  1. I tried already Vapoursynth: "MC Temporal Denois", "DeHalo_alpha", "HQDering", "stabilizeIT" and "ReduceFlicker" (all default Setting and i used only one at the same time).

Nothing really helped. Im bad in finding out how an "artefact" is called, so i have also problem by finding out which filter i have to use.

Here the Video (i have two examples):

1: It's upscaled. Look on the hand on his head on the metalplate this upper dot. It wobbles around: https://uploadnow.io/de/share?utm_source=D6RJtFJ
    2. At the bottom below the girl it flickers at start of the video. After camera goes down the whole upper part flickers (original and upscaled): https://uploadnow.io/f/mT20HVF

What would you call this flicker? And which filter do you use on these kind of artefacts?

Do you normally "deflicker" before or after upscaling? In the first example i did not even saw the flicker. I saw it only on the upscaled one and now, when i look closer i see it on the original too. So i mean, sometimes its hard to regonize that in very blurry original files. Maybe it's also easier to remove after upscaling ?

    Has anyone an idea ?

Edit: when i use "reduce flicker" in Vapoursynth-frame-stabilize, its horrible, when camera starts moving.

  2. Flickering: I do not see it
Maybe SMDeGrain with dct=1 (this will slow down things) helps,...
Normally you, try to remove problems before scaling (especially scaling up) since scaling changes the nature of things (artifacts and noise get larger and worse).

"stabilizeIT" and "ReduceFlicker" (all default Setting and i used only one at the same time).
"stabilizeIT" and "ReduceFlicker" those two are meant for totally different things.
StabilizeIT does zoom into a clip to hide shaking borders, it's meant to compensate a shaking image.
ReduceFlicker performs averaging of a frame with its two adjacent temporal neighbors, it's meant for luma flickering.

  3. What do you mean it will slow down? Processing-time or you mean movement in the video ?

I tried SMDeGrain with default-setting and it helps a little bit. but i don't find "dct=1". I see "dct" but there is only text and no numbers in dropdown-menu. You mean "use block DCT..." ?

And ok, ReduceFlicker does anyway does not work for me.

  5. You mean Hybrid shows the script somewhere it uses ? I see only a preview for the video in the lower right corner in filter tab. But no option to show me the script.

For both Avisynth and Vapoursynth you can look at the script if you look inside the Vapoursynth/Avisynth tab in the lower right corner,...
