Videos from RTVE

I own IDM which downloads newest episodes without issue. But it's unable to find the videos for the earliest ones, such as episode 1 below. I'd like to figure out how to get episodes 1-5 if possible. Thank you!

It looks like episode 1-5 are actually mpd files and DRM protected, while episode 6 and onward are m3u8 and not protected. IDM can't handle encryption, so that's why it can only download the newer ones. You need to use another downloader that can download encrypted videos, like N_m3u8DL-RE, and decrypt them using specific keys. It's a step above using something like IDM, but that's how it goes.

Everything looked promising with the downloading and merging but when N_m3u8DL-RE finished, the end result was a blank video and no audio. (Mediainfo only shows a video stream.) I'm going to try again and see if I might have done something wrong, which is the likely scenario.

Works fine on my end. Make sure you have ffmpeg and mp4decrypt installed, in order to properly support merging and decrypting.

also, send through the command you were using with N_m3u8DL-RE that failed and the output and we can probably work out the problem

OK, so I was missing the mp4decrypt portion. I thought I had entered the proper commands in N_m3u8DL-RE but I ended up with separate files for audio, video and subtitle. It was just a matter of merging them with ffmpeg and all was well.

Thank you for your expertise and willingness to share! It seems that is more of a rare commodity these days.

Incidentally, I found a site that handles the decryption for this site and several others, so I'm hoping it won't disappear so I don't bother you guys.
