At the moment I can't test the results I'm getting directly -- I sold my home theater along with my house, and haven't built a new theater in our new house yet.
When I ripped a 3D Blu-Ray in lossless mode I got a file that's playable on my PC with VLC and other media players in 2D. I can't tell if that's just an automatic playback conversion, or if 2D is all I've got in the extracted file.
If I use a non-lossless conversion mode, I can do red/blue or side-by-side conversion, and know for certain that I have the 3D video. I'd rather use lossless, however, which has no options at all. I suspect, "lossless" aside, I'm really only getting either left eye or right eye content, but I'm just not sure.
