  1. I have an avi file thats about 105MB. I have the audio file thats about 490MB (from VirtualDub) and when I use TMPGEnc to make a mpeg, the file is about 750MB. it really sucks because if I'd have to make the VCD 3 CDs long. is this normal? is there a way to reduce the file size? thanx

    How long is the movie? You can put 80 min of video in vcd format on 80 min cd-r. 1 min mpeg 1 video = 10 Mb file size.

    Yes, Tbear is correct. If you have encoded EXACTLY to VCD standards, you can fit approx 76 minutes on 1 disc. If it is to spec's pay no attention to the file size. Again, I must stress, if it is to specification.

    ntsc = 1150 kbps cbr mpg 1 vid X 224 kbps mp1 layer 2 audio stereo
