I use mkvtoolnixgui.exe to "Force Display" subtitles.
Usually this is fine.
Yesterday I was playing a movie, but I needed to select the subtitle nonetheless.
Either no subtitles or with the (selected) one.
I selected "Force Display".
How come?
It is just out of curiosity only: selecting the subtitles is no big deal.
(Just that I missed the very first part of the movie, discovered the subtitles were missing,
then had to go back, restart the play and immediately selected the subtitle)
Are my settings wrong?
thanks!

forced flags are always just info to the player,... -> the player you use does not seem to care about the info

I agree. You can't rely on players to support MKV features like that. A lot of players don't even support SRT subs muxed into the MKV file, but rather require a separate SRT file.
