This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but here goes. I'm making a streaming/recording setup on the cheap for SNES gameplay. I happen to have a LG DVR RH257H which I'd like to use for this. The setup would either involve recording on the device itself (also looking for any possibility of unlocking copying files from the HDD to USB) or using the DVR as a scan converter for use with a cheap HDMI USB capture device.
The issue: I'd like to run the SNES as NTSC to match the 60 Hz framerate that's now pretty much standard for anything that isn't broadcast TV. (I've region modded it so I can choose between PAL and NTSC with a switch.) But, the DVR, being sold in Sweden, is PAL by default. I've been able to get into a few of the diagnostics/service menus, and there are option bits that you can change, which is promising. But I don't want to change these options blindly with the risk of bricking the device. If anyone has documentation for the option bits, I'd be interested.
