youtube-dl hasn't been in use for more than a year. It was discontinued and replaced by yt-dlp which is still developed.
    Give that a try

At a guess the "fragments" you see being downloaded and are having a bit of a panic about, are in fact normal.
Dash streaming normally works by adjusting to bandwidth, increasing or decreasing bitrates and picture quality in relation to said bandwidth.
Yt-dlp and a few other tools, effectively co-opt this functionality and focus on one particular stream selection either at max by default or by whatever flag the user has selected (the -f ) and recombine the stream fragments into one file when a set number are downloaded.
There is no real need for a buffer. That's what dash-hls was introduced to do away with.

Every download , it just show a second of the fragment number increase , get deleted and continue joining them.I would like to buffer all the fragment into the ram and not to the SSD.

SSD health are base on r/w and with small segment , it need to erase the whole MLC nand again and again.
yt-dlp , is a powerful download tools in command line but does it have a buffer to ram disk command ? I would like to cache to ram for those segment to 50mb and only write ton SSD.
This method is much better than write and erase every block .

Any guide for the command to do that?
