Hi there
When I have been using software to encode videos to another format I have stuck to using my PCs CPU even though I have an NVIDIA RTX 3070, simply because I've read others saying it's better to do this to get the best results.
But, considering it takes absolutely ages, I am now thinking if it is actually worth the wait, and maybe I should use Hardware Acceleration after all. What do others think?

I use NVENC even for things I'm distributing to others. CPU encoding IS better, but it's a small difference and takes wayyyy longer.
I have a Ryzen 9 5900X and RTX 3080. Even with NVENC set to "slowest" preset, it is about 10x faster than CPU encoding set to "slower".
I just set the bitrate slightly higher to compensate. Storage/bandwidth is cheap unless you're doing something on a commercial scale.
