  1. I have Spiderman in one full 700m AVI file and I want to convert it to a VCD to play through my DVD player. I'm a complete newbie to this and am really struggling. Can somebody please help me? If you could tell me in steps what I need to do and how to do it I would be extremely grateful.

    Thanks

I use two programs when I do this conversion. First Virtualdub. I go to Audio click Full Processing mode and the set the hertz and save the audio of the movie as a *.wav file under da file menu.

After I have da audio/Sound part of the movie takeing care of useing VirturalDub. I launch the program TMPGEnc. Useing this program. I click da video input part to where my *.avi movie is located on my computer. I then switch da audio input to da file Virtualdub made me eailer. This way I have audio and sound working. Then I just load where i want the output movie to go and click convert. This will convert the movie into a *.mpeg....

Useing the burning program Nero... I convert the mpeg into a VCD movie. This usully works for me. Hope this is any help. If not. I recommand useing the articals the site provides.

If your movie is to big after doing this to be able to put on cd....
    Just send me a message.

    Peace.

If you movie is in avi format use this guide

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm[url]

It's the guide that IMP8783 is talking about except he using nero instead of vcd easy. That is exactly how I do it, and have no problems. It explains how to split the files in the guide

  5. why not just skip the virtual dup stuff & drop it straight into tmpeg??? it will be faster all U need is the divx codecs loaded & then follow the tmpeg guides for creating a vcd. This should work without any hitches.

    Kev!

  10. I'm not sure about what loumarx wrote, but I think it is a guide to convert a dvd to a svcd. I think you should stick to the guide I told you, because your movie is in avi format.

You want to follow the DivX to VCD conversion guide under CONVERSION to the left.

You'd want to strip out the wav due to the VBR in the audio. Yes, you could drop it straight into TMPG if you'd like Synch issues. There is a way to set the timing skew, in TMPG so you can do that, but I am not gonna get into explaining that.

In short, follow this, http://www.vcdhelp.com/divxtovcd.htm, as well as use your SOURCE RANGE filters to split the clips up front, and you'll be cool.
