tips to recover Rec button

recently my buddy sent me an old sony TRV900. it said that the Rec button was failure. it do.
I opened the machine and found that the conductive paint behind Rec button is oxidized. only seems a bit dark but it is totally open with a multimeter.
Finally it is recovered by repainting the film with sliver paint.

Good you were able to fix it.

Another option for those that don't have fixing skills, the Sony DCR-TRV900 came with a remote control that had all the function buttons on it. An easy fix would be to press record on the remote. If you don't have the remote, you could probably find one cheap on a site like Ebay.
