    Hey everybody,

I'm looking for best ways to cleaning-up a few of my early 80s stuff that were originally recorded through Beta (then transferred onto VHS) which I had someone capture them through lossless AVI (yes I know it's overkill).

While I also would like to see this interpolated to 50fps, I was wondering if any cleaning can be done, despite the low quality?

  2. I would recommend recapturing the tape again. You can always clean stuff, but you will lose details alongside the noise,...

This looks well done! Sadly, the only thing in my possession are the raw captures as the tape for this a friend, from the UK, owns it. I forgot to mention early this was captured using a Panasonic NVS950 (via S-video) with a TBC-3000. I could ask him to do another capture of the first eight minutes of this and use the edit feature on the deck.

Just curios, Why it's 688x568? Could it be the oddball resolution that I couldn't play it using MPC-HC?

None here either. But both Selur's samples have non-standard resolution ????

Curious about the source tho. Never seen Queen with such short hair

I suspect he's cropped all the cr@p off and not resized. My cropping gives 687x559.

  9. Yes, I simply cropped. I did not see any reason to resize afterwards since that shouldn't be a hurdle. I only was curious about how to clean up the video.
No clue why your mpc-hc can't playback the file.

Not sure if this is a good idea. For cropping one should follow these rules I think:

I usually crop mod4 to be on the safe side.

@Sharc, hold ya horses, I didn't suggest one should use those values for the final product, I just put them up to show what I surmised Selur had done.

  12. No offense, I understood it as your proposal for cropping. So I thought a notice would do no harm
