  1. Hello, searched about this issue but couldn't find any topics related to this, so figured that might as well ask this over here first.

So, I have this problem with some executable Bink-videos that RADVideoTools refuse to convert into MP4 for some reason. I did already email them, but decided to ask about this over here too, if there's better/newer tools for these files. Conversion to AVI works fine, but results unnecessarily massive files (well over 4Gb per video). Did check out some converter tools already, but as guessed, they don't understand those executable videos at all.

Any solutions to this? Also, this topic can be moved to better area and removed if needed etc.

  2. If your files are bink v1 (not bink2) you can use clever FFmpeg-GUI.
Load your file, click main, click encode video stream, click keep resolution, leave all settings as the are, click encode.
If done, click encode audio stream, click go to the encoder, leave all settings as the are, click encode.
If done, click multiplex, select the streams shown in green, deselect all other streams, set mp4 as container, click multiplex. Done.

  4. Can you go back to normal bik file from exe with RADVideoTools?
If so, retry with the bik file.

That works yea, but for some reason there is degrade in quality, and I'm not sure how to set up the tool to essentially convert it losslessly to .BIK

  6. Start the RAD Tools, highlight the exe, click Mix in Sound, insert a - (minus sign) at sound file to mix, a -1 at Mix into what Bink..., set the ouputfile and click mix.

    Done.
Then, for the conversion, use CRF 20 for the video conversion in clever FFmpeg-GUI.
