  1. I have very basic knowledge on how to download with YT-DLP using The Stream Detector,
currently i'm trying to download from www.ctv.ca (Canadian IP only), since it's videos are DRM protected i used this : yt-dlp --allow-u "mpd url"
it downloaded two files i think one is a video and its audio, when opening the video i find it unwatchable as it's very gray and misty and the audio has no sound, tried combining them with MKV tool but the results is unplayable mkv, if there is a solution on how to fix these files or how to download them correctly i would like to know pretty please, but bare with me as i'm still learning so i need beginners steps, i really tried searching the forum for related threads but i find them to be hard to understand and not for beginners, thank you for your time.

yes i know as i said i did search and couldn't understand anything, the way things are explained aren't for beginners, i see members providing codes and saying something about keys, but where do i start, how would you explain it to someone who is trying it for the first time, i only knows how to download with yt-dlp, i don't know what exactly it is but i know that it is a tool helps you to grab files that won't download with IDM, so i just use the command lines i have saved in my txt file and paste them to cmd and it does the magic, but i don't know what is the next baby step from here to grab playable videos from CTV site, i'm sorry if i seem slow and stupid but everyone gotta start somewhere right?

  4. [ss]Vegeta did a video on how to do this. He even used CTV as the demo url.

Look at vegeta's profile then look at his posts. Search for the one where he addresses this said challenge.

thanks, it's funny how i just came from his post before reading your reply, there is just one thing though,
mr. vegeta provided a website called getwvkeys saying that it is the place were to get decrypting keys
but the site requires getting into their discord first before you can access it, the problem now is they are asking for phone number verification so i can be accepted, i don't even have a facebook account only because they keep asking me for verification
is there another reliable website where i can get the working keys without having to give my personal info such as my phone number to be verified or i have no choice?

  8. Update: everything went well, i encountered some difficulties following the method provided by mr. vegeta as some codes maybe become outdated or something, for example the download was slow but i've solved it using aria2c, also the script didn't work for me so i googled the problem and i solved it by installing EME Logger, to sum things up, a complete newbie just learned how to decrypt videos from this site, thanks a lot to everyone, Peace.
