I guess you could extract the subtitle file of relevance (e.g. .srt) and do a simple "wc -l" (on linux) against it with a predefined threshold, on windows you can check the file size. There are some extremely rare movies where you are given a subtitle file with one or two lines, but these are extremely rare cases (e.g. "All is lost" is the first that comes to my mind)
