  1. what is bitrate and does this effect quality and also what is quantize matrix and what setting is good quality, and finally what is gop structure

  2. Bitrate is like sugar in your coffee. More sugar ->sweeter coffee. More Bitrate -> more information to reproduce the picture -> better picture.

    Bitrate can be constant(CB) -> allways the same amouth of picture information or VBR - variable -> it determines how much information you need to reproduce the quality you wanna have. The info curve is moving up and down between the min and max value. It is to put more movie on the final media . it doesn't make better picture.

    Quantize matrix -> encoding algorith?? - Just a few of uss know how to use it -> use mpeg standard otherwise you have to be an engineer, I'm not.

    GOP -> group of pictures. There is some standard to fallow. I'm using PAL it is max 15 pictures in a GOP structure. IBBP.........etc. A 1 GOP is the smalest element you can cut out from a videostream if you gonna edit or set up chapters. Shapter point can be defined only to the beginning (I-frame) og a GOP.
