I have some old videos which I need to do some rudimentary editing on - chop off a few seconds from the start and end, maybe remove some bits during the runtime (it varies).

They are in MKV format on my desktop PC (running Windows 10).

Is there a really easy to use editor which will achieve this with the minimum of fuss?

  2. None easier then the movie maker that came with Win 10 for 'rudimentary' editing. It can handle MKV files.

  4. I like ShotCut. Very powerful video editor, but also fairly easy to use for what you want to do.
