  1. I meant to screengrab the error window and thought I had before closing it but apparently I didn’t. Trying to capture a full 6hr vhs tape and I keep getting an error something to the extent of indexing or something. It only happens on long captures. I’ll try to get a screengrab or more specific info but hoping it’s something easy to fix.

Superindex entry limit? But the default settings are supposed to be enough. Are you capturing uncompressed 10-bit or something instead of lossless?

  3. Thanks for the reply Brad! I believe that was it yeah, but I think my files were still having issues at like 200GB or so. I’ll have to check when I’m home and see what it’s set at and report back!

  4. So I changed it from the default up to 600 after another said it needed like 575 and it seemed to do the trick. I guess my only question is whether there is any downside to doing this? I’ve done it three times now and every time when I come back to the computer it goes to the windows blue screen of death and restarts, but after restarting the video file is fine

The downsides are noted in my link, i.e. some additional overhead and reduced compatibility.

  6. Gotcha! Much appreciated. So long as it can be edited again in VDub and then encoded in Handbrake it should be fine I think, right? That’s not the file I end up keeping in the long run
