  1. Just replaced my desktop, and when trying to capture old DV tapes from my Sony DCR-PC9 with WinDV (a process that was flawless on my old desktop), the IEEE 1394A connection is defaulting to DV OUT, and I can't find any way to switch it back to DV-IN. In WinDV, the only devices appearing are my webcam, and TV Capture card. I have tried uninstalling the IEEE 1394A driver, but it still defaults to DV-IN when I plug the cable into the Sony DCR-PC9. The camcorder is set for DV-OUT in the menu, but something from the computer IEEE 1394A port is forcing DV-IN. I know it is old tech, but has anybody ever had this problem and can maybe point me in the right direction on how to fix it?

  2. Have you tried the legacy driver? Some posters have also recommended ScenalyzerLive as an alternative to WinDV.

  3. Thanks for the tip! ScenalyzerLive did the trick. I can now capture! Don't know why WinDV no longer worked, but this is a workaround I can live with. Thanks again and Merry Christmas!
