  1. Hello,

Normally I wouldn't create a thread since I'm very barebones knowledge about this stuff, but I figured since I spent days back and forthing trying to find out what I'm doing wrong, I may as well turn help to people who are more savvy with Megui.

Anyways, I used to know a guy who encodes anime and stuff but their stuff broke down and they kind of hiatus since, so I asked them for their Megui program and all the works they used, I know the steps on what to do and I'm using the profiles and stuff they provided but for some reason, the quality comes out poorly compared to their old stuff. They can somehow keep a very crisp quality despite being around 100-105mb. They told me they resize a 1080p to 720p, so I do the same but again, same poor results.

Am I missing something or is getting that crisp quality a DLL or a config?

    My encode result:

    Thank you for your time!

  2. Probably filtered and sharpened (and/or a sharper downscaling algorithm), you can see ringing artifacts around the text.

Maybe the encoding settings were different too, you can check with mediainfo (view=>text)

Thank you for the reply! Do you think he used a special DLL for it or just something he fidgeted with what Megui already has?

Edit: I ran the thing on MediaInfo and this is the only major difference i found.

Here is the data for the full thing. Left side is their encode, right side is my encode using their profile for megui.
