  1. Hi,
Is it possible to convert mp4 or mts to mpg without re-encoding.
I want to edit video with womble dvd wizard and than export stream copy which is only possible with mpg file.
    Thanks

  2. You can't without re-encoding. DVD .mpg is mpeg2 video while your .mp3 and .m2ts are mpeg4 video, so it's not simply a container change.

  3. Womble dvd wizard can export only mpeg2 video and mp2,mp3,ac3 audio without recoding.
If you use it as editor, all other codecs will be recoded.
Check your input files with mediainfo to see the involved codecs.

  5. MP4 and MTS are containers; different ways of organizing video and audio data within a file. They can contain video and audio encoded with a wide variety of codecs, including MPEG 2 video and MP2 or AC3 audio. If your files contain those codecs they can be remuxed into an MPG container without re-encoding. I. E. the container isn't the issue, it's what's in it that matters.

  6. Yes, sorry, I was silently assuming that the OP's .mts and .mp4 contained mpeg4 video, which needs not necessarily be the case, of course.
@chunu: You can inspect your files with MediaInfo to see what codec was used, or upload a short sample here, or just try to open the files in womble (or other editor).

  7. Thanks everybody for support.
What I am trying to do is to cut some segments of video and replace audio(add several different tracks) without re-encoding the video. I have tried different softwares ffmpeg, avidemux etc* no problem replacing single audio file but not multiple audio files. Womble video editor was good but unfortunately only support mpg files to render without re-encoding.
    Videopad did the job.
Appriciate If any one can suggest video editor with timeline that supports smart rendering.
I have old pc so Adobe premium, coral video studio etc will not work.
    Thanks
