Okay, I'm probably a complete idiot... but it seems to make no sense.

With the code you generously gave me, I downloaded it smoothly with the "N_m3u8DL-RE" software, which is really great, no VPN needed. I asked how to get this code. (The proper link+key).

You posted a link to the "Devine" downloader forum thread and a link to a CBS modification. WTF?

I downloaded and installed "Devine". And I have spent hours reading the posts in the forum thread where there is not a single word about how to create a command line for the "N_m3u8DL-RE" downloader.

It is also not clear what command lines Devine works with. Exactly where should the modified CBS file "__init__.py" be copied? (There are 10 locations in the Devine directory where the file "__init__.py" is listed.)

I saw that the BBC iPlayer modification also exists. Does it work without VPN?

hi, when pepe give you a N_m3u8DL-RE command, that means it need a custom script written by himself. you know not everything can directly public here on the forum. he link you to devine and CBS because we all use that code/endpoint, if you know python and can write custom script certainly you can get that N_m3u8DL-RE command by yourself or you will use devine to download or just ask other people to give you the N_m3u8DL-RE command. and yes devine download need vpn for cbs/BBC iPlayer, if you only want mpd+key, you still need modify some code from devine service like that __init__.py to print mpd and keys, and skip download. then you can turn off vpn start downloading.

I'm trying to capture the mpd link using DevTools/plug-ins in Chrome, but I can only detect the mpd for the ad stream and not the actual video. Playing with ad blockers didn’t help. Has anyone got a way to get the real mpd for the main video?
