  1. There are no specific instructions on how to set up virtualdub. There are 3 download zip files, two of which contain source codes. Where do you extract the source codes too???

  2. Did you unzip them using winzip or anything like that
We were all NEWBIES once and the only stupid question is the one that's not asked?

  3. Yes I used winzip and I can't find a readme that tells me where to install them. Vdub's initial file includes some additional folders with some files in them. I assume (and I know what that spells) they go in one of those folders??

All you need is the release build unless you are a programmer and want to develop VD. Then extract and copy it to any dir. You might want to install the avi file handler, that means, some files will get copied to system32 dir and some registry entries will get written. Just doubleclick on Auxsetup.exe and press "install handler" / OK, OK.

If you have WinZip installed, just right click on "VirtualDub-1_4_10.zip"and select "Extract To > VirtualDub-1_4_10" this will re-create the correct directory structure with the files in the right place.

There is no further installation, just click on the "VirtualDub.exe" to run. When you have learned a little of how this program works you may wish to run "AuxSetup.exe" but this is not required at the moment.
