For the first time I tried using AVS2DVD (v2.42) to author a DVD for North America. I tried changing the 'Zone' from PAL to NTSC but no matter what I tried it would always show up as PAL in the window that comes up when you press 'START'. Is this a bug or is there something I am missing?

    Hi ProWo,

The resolution is 854 by 480.

  4. Then resize to 720x480, with AR 16:9
By the way: What's the source fps?

Resizing with an online service or using AVS2DVD?

    fps is 25fps

  6. 25 fps IS PAL.
Ntsc has to be 23.976 fps or 29.97 fps.
Set 720x480, 23.976 fps, AR 16:9 in Avstodvd

Have you guys thought of having the software do that automatically as well as notifying the user that this is going to be done as a pop-up window? Or come up with an info window saying if NTSC is to be chosen then this is the frame rate and this is the resolution that one needs to change it to? It would help a lot.

The software does the resize, and sets the necessary frame rate, no need to adjust beforehand.
In the preferences, make sure you tick the " save as default " box.
Once these preferences are changed, the project has to be started as new, it won't apply to existing projects
