As the title says, what's the best version of virtualdub these days? The original one is rather limited, but I know some forks were released (like virtualdubmod / virtualdub2 / etc), but I've been out of the loop and am not sure what to use anymore.
Ideally, I'd like to know if there's a version with multithreaded filtering now, since that can quickly become a performance bottleneck.

virtualdub2. virtualdub is limited and old (like it was made during the USENET age in order to capture american dub of sailor moon since the dev's capture card used 16-bit software) and virtualdubmod was made in middle-ages of avisynth. virtualdub2 supports modern codecs too and that can be useful
