When I try to delete a folder appears the message

" The action can't be completed because the file is open in System "

As other times I try to reboot the System and then to delete the folder. But this time the problem persists after to do the reboot.

How can I delete at last that folder?

    Thanks for your suggestion.

  3. What about using the terminal mode. Run cmd as admin, cd to the directory location and delete the directory (del foobar)?

Unlocker is much easier to use then a command window that doesn't always work.

  5. A good alternative to Unlocker is LockHunter: https://lockhunter.com/

  7. This often works: boot into safe mode and delete the folder.

  8. There's also IObit Unlocker: https://www.iobit.com/en/iobit-unlocker.php. That said, I've used LockHunter before and it got the job done. I haven't used Unlocker from Empty Loop in about a decade.

Add RKill to your PC toolbox in case the folder is home to malware which sometimes is Terminate and Stay Resident https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/

    BLEEPINGCOMPUTER REVIEW:

RKill is a program that was developed at BleepingComputer.com that attempts to terminate known malware processes so that your normal security software can then run and clean your computer of infections. When RKill runs it will kill malware processes and then removes incorrect executable associations and fixes policies that stop us from using certain tools. When finished it will display a log file that shows the processes that were terminated while the program was running.

As RKill only terminates a program's running process, and does not delete any files, after running it you should not reboot your computer as any malware processes that are configured to start automatically will just be started again. Instead, after running RKill you should immediately scan your computer using some sort of anti-malware or anti-virus program so that the infections can be properly removed.

Rkill added to a toolkit on a bootable utility image is a great way to keep your stuff trimmed to your liking.
