  1. I just got my DVD-R Pioneer 104 and I was wanting to put all my SVCD to DVD format. I have been reading the forums on SVCD to DVD and it sounds bad, is it a real nightmare or have any of you guys worked out how to do this convertion. If so please help

    You have two choices
    1. You could try "dvd-svcd" www.vcdhelp.com/vcddvdr.htm ...you can download a dvd-svcd sample and test here www.vcdhelp.com/dvd.htm#sample . The advantages of the dvd-svcd is it that it doesn't require any video reencoding but it may not work properly on many players and it is kinda complex.
    2. If you wan't the best compatibility it is best to reencode the svcd to standard dvd and burn but you will then lose some quality.

Actually, it's relatively painless if you can get the right software. In this case, DVDMaestro. Do a little hunting and I'm sure you'll find it. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer and I was able to convert some of my SVCD stuff to DVD-R rather easily with the above methods.

This is the type of compatibility I want and this is what I’m currently doing so maybe someone can tell me if I'm on the right track:

Extracted the mpeg2 files from the SVCD’s and joined them together with TMPGEnc to make the mpeg2 file one.

I then loaded the files into DVD2AVI and save as project which produces one d2v file and a mpa file

I’m now running the files though TMPGEnc using a DVD NTSC 29.97fps template (Source NTSC 29.97)

I was then going to add the file to SpruceUp to author and burn

    Will this work ?
