  1. Hello,

I have an original 4K BD file from a movie with the extension .m2ts and i wanna make it .mkv because i wanna change the DTS audio to a AC3 (LG OLED don't play DTS) so first need to make a .mkv! I make it .mkv with MKVToolix but after this i have less bit rate:

    Original file:

    Overall bit rate: 60.2 Mb/s

    MKV File:

    Overall bit rate: 57.2 Mb/s

How can i keep the size bit rate as the original file ?

    Thanks!

Use clever Fmpeg GUI.It will do what you want.

  3. mkv has less overhead than m2ts. The "overall bit rate" includes that overhead. The size reduction you see is normal when remuxing m2ts to mkv. And MkvToolnix can't reencode the video so there's definitely no change to the video data.
