Hi guys I have my Bluray full hd and 4k 2160p collection in an mkv file each one, I need to encode this movies but obviously I wish the best quality possible so I was thinking in some Biltrate calculator that let me choose example 2160p resolution and 1080p resolution

Is there some that you can recomend?

All I wish to know is how to know what size to compress a video, that is, what size is recommended

The definition of bitrate is:

bitrate = stream size / running time

So it follows with a little algebraic rearrangement:

stream size = bitrate * running time

If your intention is to maximize quality by filling each disc with one movie then the resolution doesn't enter into the calculation. The size vs. bitrate equation isn't effected by the frame size, frame rate, codec used, etc.

The quality of different videos encoded with the same encoder with the same settings and at the same bitrate will vary. There's no universal "you need x kbps for 2160p video" or "you need y kbps for 1080p video". Different videos will require different bitrates to retain quality.
