    I use VLC installed on a Firestick to view videos via my NAS drive, however when watching video files taken from my Android phone, VLC plays them in portrait format. I have tried the usual "google" and "youtube" channels which suggest downloading an APK to my firestick that alters screen rotation, but that doesnt work. Any advice folks

    If portrait is the "right way up" you're going to have
    to do some heavy cropping to make it fill the TV screen or other landscape scenario

    Not worth doing if the videos are in portrait mode to begin with.
