Hello: To say I am new at this video stuff would be putting it mildly...My first chore is to learn to shrink the size of .MP4 video files...I have tried online converters, but they are way too slow...I am looking for offline, .MP4 shrinker that is stand-alone and only shrinks files...Not a large photo editing package...Just an idiot proof offline program to reduce the file size...Any advice would be welcome! Thanks...

Handbrake or VidCoder, VidCoder uses HandBrake as its encoder but simpler to use. Be aware compressing an already compressed MP4 WILL reduce quality even further.

I use VidCoder and it works with GPU. You can compare quality of the converted to original

Handbrake is very very good at what it does, quality takes time

Both are 100% free, no trial, no restrictions or watermarks. Both are updated fairly frequently
