  1. Has anyone tried to rip Mulholland Dr.?
I have the disk and using SmartRipper I tried to rip the vobs, but I continued to get an error that the disc was locked? Has anyone else has this experience with this, or any other disc? Some sort of new encryption to prevent copying?

    ....or is it just me

Did you unlock the dvd by playing it on a software dvd player and pausing it? You should always do this before even opening smartripper.

I'm suprised this isn't mentioned in the guides on this site, its pretty basic knowledge.

If you still can't unlock the drive just use a different dvd ripper. Smartripper definitely has the most options out of all dvd ripping programs but it fails on alot of dvds. Vstrip and dvd2svcd's internal routines are much more consistent, in my opinion.

  3. yeah, I unlocked the drive first, however, SmartRipper still had a problem. I downloaded cladDVD XP and it works great.

  4. it could be that smartripper couldn't "unlock" a vob cuz it was greater than 0.99 gigs...at least this happened for my older version of smartripper....dvddecryptor is great at handling >0.99 gig vob files and movies that have loads of multi-angles and seamless branching...

but i still like smartripper's GUI the best thou
