    I have this damaged/corrupted file recorded by Sony PMW-EX1.
    Has anyone had the same problem in the past? File is MP4 here's spec from other clean recordings:


    Format : MPEG-4
    Commercial name : XDCAM EX 35
    Format profile : Base Media / Version 2
    Codec ID : mp42

    Try this. You have to feed it a good file from the same device which it uses as a model to repair the bad file

    Probably the file has a damaged header. You need a good playable video file recorded with the same camera and settings (e.g. resolution, frame rate, etc.) as the corrupted file. Then you can use a video repair tool to extract metadata from the playable file and inject it into the corrupted file. If you're on Windows, you can try a command line tool reocver_mp4. It's free:

    Untrunc mentioned above will also do.
    Alternatively, you can use an online app - restore.media.
    Also, you can upload a playable sample file and share it here, so we can try fixing the corrupted video with it.
