I recently got a Wolverine Movie Maker Pro 8MM converter. Just looking for some guidance to make sure my workflow to convert to MPEG-2 for DVD or compliant MP4 for playback on TV.
The video captured by the device is 20fps. First I'm using FFMPEG to get correct frame rate without re-encoding. Next I'm importing into Vegas 17 and setting resolution to 1440x1080 progressive, PAR to .9091, frame rate to 16 or 18 depending on 8MM or Super 8MM. Then in Video Event FX changing Maintain Aspect Ratio to NO. This gives me a 4x3 square video.
Then to have a DVD or NTSC compliant file encoding to standard 30fps NTSC video matching field order to progressive and PAR to .9091.
Anything else I should be double checking or changing? I just want to make sure if I'm doing it this way it's worthwhile and will give me the best end result possible.
