  1. When all you people burn your VCDs, they are all at the same res. (I think its around 352 by 240), Well when you play it on your standalone DVD player and watch it on TV, won't it be real small, about 1/2 the size, can ya really watch it like that? Is it worth it?

  3. WHAT!?!?!? of course not, tvs dont have resoultions, they have line-ratings (meaning how many lines) the pal tvs are 576, VHS is 288 interlaced (576 total) same with vcd, so to answer ur question in short, the picture is streched to fit ur tv (FULL PICTURE). looks sometimes better sometimes worse than VHS

But in order for it to look sharp and nice as a VCD on a TV, you have to change resolution to (720 by 480) NTSCFilm DVD res. And you can only do that with XVCD...am i right?

Huh? VCD has always been 352x240 for NTSC. 720x480 is DVD, like you said.

DVD players strech the video to fit your TV.

Theirfor, large tv's will experence macro-blocking.

My 27 inch has it pretty bad. However, since my machine will play XVCD I can increase resolution
