    High Bollywood fans,

    How do you do?

Still creating karaoke files with Bolly clips...

I have extracted clips from my BR movie (Veer-Zaara), and am working on "Aisa des hai mera", using first aegisub to place my subs:

Then I open the video clip with handbrake, and configure it like this:

I import the subs created with aegisub, in order to burn them:

    and encode the film.

A few seconds later, I am very surprised to notice that the subs are now laying upon the images, and are no more in the bottom black stripe.

Do you know what I am doing wrong, and what settings I must modify, please?

Do you think it is possible to move them directly with handbrake?

  4. I don't know handbrake, but to have the subtitle in the bottom black bar you must encoding the video WITH the black bars (letterboxed).

The video is in the good format (1920x1080), just take a look at picture#1 and picture#9.
So I guess we must find something else.

Maybe someone who knows handbrake can answer me.

    Hi G4yFr0g,

I'll download the latest version of S.E., mine is 3.4.

But my subs are already in ass format, with aegisub.
    See you tomorrow.

  10. Consider updating handbrake, this one's too old, it might be a problem that they've fixed in the update(s)

Well, I used XmediaRecode, or VidCoder, both worked perfectly.
Still don't know what's wrong with my old handbrake version, but I'm thinking of buying a new PC with Windows10

Correct ...for better control on formatting & position ...a better idea is to use SSA/ASS .....I guess the problem may be present due to handbrake settings to crop the video to remove black bars......it's better to crop & then position the subtitles.....usually that's what I do using staxrip, (gives a nice preview before encoding) when I wish to hard-code the subtitles.

    Hi!
Sorry for this late answe, due to an hospitalization. I am perfectly all right now.

Well, I found the solution, or may I say, I found the reason of the problem, it is the format of the ass subtitles created with aegisub: handbrake uses the "Default" format.
    So what I did is:
    1. mux the movies and the subs via mkvmerge
    2. use this movie and these subs with handbrake or vidcoder.
