    For starters:
I still use DVDShrink, it works fine for me, (rip DVD's)
On my newer computer, I have RedFox *latest version* installed.
My sis gave me an old XP computer (it has some version of Office so's I can view *.docx files)
I thought why not & installed *last version* Slysoft ANYDVD.
Almost all DVD's ripped with the old slysoft s/w more than 95% are ripped with DVDShrink
Most DVD rips with Redfox, Shrink gives an error (DVD structure, whatever) and does not work. I must rip to hdd files with Redfox.
Opening those files with Shrink works OK.
Its just an extra step, ripping, then using Shrink, I save as 'movie only'. This takes more time is all.

What might be the cause of *old working better than new* in decryption & ripping?

    Just wondering, thats all.

  3. It must be something that RedFox is not decrypting that DVDShrink needs to work.

I can't give a better answer because I don't have RedFox software & I will never purchase anything from them.
I wouldn't install RedFox if they gave it to me.

I do have the last Slysoft version of AnyDVD HD & I also have the older AnyDVD both paid Lifetime licences.
For all the good that does.
They still work well on most DVD rips both with CloneDVD2 & DVDShrink.

I also have a Lifetime DVDFab Passkey on a different computer .
For some reason AnyDVD & DvdFab software do NOT like to be installed on the same OS.
So far DVDFab Passkey has worked with DVDShrink for all DVD rips I've done.
