    With the ability to use tools like CloneCD et al, to burn a 1:1 copy and then work on cracking it at their leisure, it'd be mighty hard to do. Get a sturdy box and lock them up, or get rid of the roommate that isn't trustworthy. If they are that "your eyes only" keep them off-site in a secure location.

  3. Exactly!

    Adding "encryption" to a VCD is not possible in the same way it isn't possible to add "encryption" to VHS. Anything robust you do to the VCD that makes it copy-protected also probably make it unreadable on VCD/DVD players.
