VOB to MKV using MakeMkv

I converted a DVD VOB files to MKV, but ended up with several MKV files, I assume they are chapters. Can’t find any settings in makeMKV, is there something I’m missing ? Or should I use something else ? What to be lossless or as near as possible

If the VOB is on your HDD and it's not encrypted, probably better to just drop it into Mkvtoolnix
