AmarecTV recorded video won't play

Trying to use AmarecTV instead of OBS. When I try to open an AmarecTV video with MPC, it says something about the "pins" in the "graph". I installed the AMV video codec.

Are you able to select 29.97 as the frame rate? THis would be more accurate for VHS.

Yes I think my Startech S-Video/Composite to HDMI Converter automatically deinterlaces. https://www.startech.com/en-us/audio-video-products/vid2hdcon2

I'm using the Startech with https://www.avermedia.com/us/product-detail/BU110

I set Amarec to 29.97, but mediainfo still says 30.00.

boolian2, remove any sharpening in the player or in the capture card, to avoid the halos:

when you'll have your new GV-USB card, capture 4:2:2, losslees, interlaced; you will deinterlace later in postprocessing if needed

I find I get more repeatable results by setting up a preset in AmarecTV and using that rather than making changes in the Config section. (Hauppauge USB Live2, Win10 Home)

@boolian2: Didn't you already capture this clip correctly as 29.97 telecined in your other thread, using AmarecTV? Just IVTC it.

This source should be IVTCed rather than deinterlaced because there is nothing to be deinterlaced. Just field match and decimate.
Maybe I am missing something ... ?
