    I changed my hardware to a MSI-Board with a Z690-Chipset and an i9-12900.

    With THIS hardware it is not possible to set the checkbox from "create top menu".
    The multiAVCD-software always says: please re-install AviSynth. But of course that is NOT the problem.

    I used multiAVCHD for years with no problems. If i take another computer with
    i7-6700k and a Asus-Board there is no problem. So i think I know HOW to install the software correctly.

    It worked for years with many CPUs and Boards.

    Has anyone an idea how to fix the problem with the "create top menu"-option.
    Has multiAVCHD or AviSynth a problem with the Z690-Chipset ?

    Does the DevIL-library has a problem with the Z690-Chipset or the CPU ?

    I always copy my files to another computer. The other computer creates the blu-ray structure
    and then i copy all files back to the main computer.

    multiAVCHD is the most important program for me....

    I don't know what to do......

    I am grateful for any help

    multiAVCHD creates a testfile (the file 'imgtest.jpg' and an 'avs-file') when you check the "create top menu"-option.
    This test seems to fail. And then multiAVCD deletes the testfile. And i can not create a menu. Only the standard menu is running.

    I don't know if this "test" has anything to do with my problem..........

    The self-created AVS-file from multiAVCHD (piriform Recuva has detected the files as DELETED)

    img="D:\multiAVCHD\imgtest.jpg"
    ImageSource(img, end = 25, use_DevIL=true)
    Subtitle("\nmultiAVCHD", first_frame=0, last_frame=5, font="Courier New", size=12, text_color=$808080, lsp=10, align=8)
    LanczosResize(128,128)
    ConvertToYV12()
    ConvertFPS(25)

    If i run the AVS-file with the media-player the Media-Player says:
    "ImageReader: error 'Could not open file' in DevIL library.
    reading file "D:\multiAVCHD\imgtest.jog"
    DevIL version 166."

    BUT...with the AVS.file this error appears on both computers by running the avs-file with the Media-Player.
    And the second computer is working with the 'create-top-menu-option'.

    Nothing useful in the log?
    Are you running the latest version of Windows 10 ?
    I ran this script based on the your first post and it works fine
    Code:
    img="C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\ASP.NETWebAdminFiles\Images\ASPdotNET_logo.jpg"
    ImageSource(img, end = 25, use_DevIL=true)
    Subtitle("\nmultiAVCHD", first_frame=0, last_frame=5, font="Courier New", size=12, text_color=$808080, lsp=10, align=8)
    LanczosResize(128,128)
    ConvertToYV12()
    ConvertFPS(25)

    Thank you very much for your answer !!!!

    I think, your script might be the answer.

    "Your" script is running on my computer.
    The problem seems to be the "self-created" "imgtest.jpg" from "multiAVCHD".

    I couldn't see the picture, so i changed it coincidentally to a avs-file and
    the answer is : it is a avs-file.

    i attached the file "imgtest.avs" with originally is "imgtest.jpg".

    What the hell is doing this "imgtest" .jpg .avs - file ???? (i can see some paths on my computer / ImgBurn / Temp-directory)

    But what can i do ? i can not forbid the multiAVCHD-program to create this test-file and
    i can not avoid the test-function from multiAVCHD.

    I attached a video from running your script and the original script
    and a video where you can see the multiAVCHD-behaviour.

    i uploaded the "imgtest.jpg" as a avs-file and
    the original produced file by multiAVCHD.

    All tested....Windows 8, 10, 11 - Windows is not the problem.

    The logging is empty. i think it begins, if i (could) hit the 'start'-button.

    Thank you......................

    I am grateful for any help

    I've got the reason )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    After exactly 2 months !!!!

    Go to settings !

    uncheck x264 or check x264 and "not" ===> auto (this is really a joke ! unbelievable !)

    And you can use the "create menu" option !

  8. Thank you NeroWolfe.

    I faced the exact same problem since I upgraded my CPF and Motherboard to i7 12700 and ASRock B660M Steel Legend. Can't use multiAVCHD since June 2022.

    Just stumbled on your post. Your solution solved my problem!

    I've been fighting with this for 3 days, finally found this answer and the menu option is working at last!
    I'm using Windows 11 on a Gigabyte Z790 / Gen 13 intel i5.
    Version numbers: multiAVCHD: 4.1 build 771, AVIsynth 2.58, ffdshow rev 3054, haali 11-01-2009 1.9.42.1

    *update* I have now updated the support software and it's still working (Multitest passes too)
    AVISynth+ 3.7.2, ffdshow rev 4532, haali 23-06-2013 1.13.138.14
