Hi folks, first time post.
I've heard 4K compressed rips can be problematic with Dolby stuff.
Can I copy a complete 100% image of a 4K disc (I have AnyDVD-HD) and load it on a virtual drive and play it directly off a PC out to a tv/amplifier? (As in, not try to stream it through Plex or anything).
If so, what PC software player can handle this, and what kind of video card or processor would I need to be up to the task?

I have researched this subject but have not tried doing it yet. You need a processor and MB combo with HDMI 2.0a or better or a video card with HDMI 2.0a or better for 4K + HDR + Dolby Atmos.
It looks like Dolby Atmos is supported on Windows 10/11 PCs with the right software installed. See: https://www.howtogeek.com/309853/how-to-use-dolby-atmos-surround-sound-on-windows-10/
Directions for VLC: https://iptvtalk.net/showthread.php?44949-How-to-fix-Dolby-Atmos-in-VLC I remember reading somewhere that Kodi and the Windows Movies & TV App are also able to stream Dolby Atmos audio over HDMI to a receiver. There may be other software that supports the same thing.Ignore list: hello_hello, tried, TechLord, Snoopy329
