  1. Hello

I have some MP4 videos (1080P) i want to put on a disc. However i need to change the video codec from H.264 to MPEG-4 as the disc will be played on a Blu-Ray player. I will using Handbrake (Unless anyone knows of a better software) to do this. Anyway, would anyone know the best Handbrake settings to get the same quality as the original source?

I did a conversion before posting the outcome was quite fragmented and the video was half the size of the original source using these setting - Framerate (FPS): Same as source - Peak Framerate - Quality: Constant Quality 22 - Encoder Preset - Fast . I think should have change the latter to slow.

    Thanks

  2. h.264 is an MPEG 4 codec -- part 10 of the spec. Most Blu-ray players that can play media files can play h.264 in mp4. Do you mean your player only plays a MPEG 4 part 2 (Xvid/Divx) codecs?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4_Part_2

Anyway, if you want larger files (and presumably better quality) lower the Constant Quality setting. Changing the preset from Fast to Slow may not make much difference in the size. But the image quality should get a little better. I recommend you also specify Constant Frame Rate.
