    if u buy a dvd player with dual laser pick up this means i can play cd-rs like the sony dvpns 700 and if i buy a mulitregion player of this will this prevent macrovision.

    Both have nothing to do with Macrovision, the Dual Pickup lens is for being able to read CDR/CDRW and other types of media better.
    the Regionfree is so you can play all Regions on your DVD Players, mainly PAL and NTSC.

    Macrovision is so you can playback your DVD to your VCR and record it.
