I'm trying to find a way in aegisubs or Subtitle edit
to flip/reverse all the letters in the srt file, because my blu ray player plays it the wrong way.
That is because the subtitles are in hebrew, and the blu ray player supports only english (left to right)
In other words,
Making a word that appears like this:
Hello
To this:
olleH
To all of the lines in the srt file.
Thank you very much.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

Yeah, you need an app that can tell the difference between the metadata, like timestamps, and the payload.
If you are good at VBA this ought to be able to be done quite nicely in MS Word. With time, I could probably do it, but I have almost no free time for the foreseeable future.
Notepad++ has some plugins that work with tagged text, and this is similar...

Yay
I solved it with contacting the developer of the "Subtitle Edit" Software.
Following my email, he added a plugin called "Reverse Text"
see File - Plugins - Reverse text
After installing it, you can activate under the Tools tab.
He is such a nice guy. -

Hello again,
There's another problem
When I reverse the text, it flips the numbers as well, which is confusing when watching the movie
Is there a way to reverse letters only and leave the numbers as is?
(for example, when a kid in the movie says "I'm 16" it says "I'm 61" because the numbers are shown properly in the player and does not reversed"
Thanks -

Since SubtitleEdit supports RTL text, what about exporting to PGS directly? PGS is the de-facto standard to display subtitles on Blu-ray players and you will never have to worry if another player would display it your SRT differently or at all. SRT is not a standardized format for home video format, it is really just offered out of courtesy by the manufacturer.
If you have overlapping events in your ASS/SRT, you would need to first export to BDN XML then to SUP using a specialised encoder, not SubtitleEdit. -
Made a simple Autoit script 'SRT Reverse'. You can open a SRT subtile file and only the letters are reversed not the numbers.
Hope this will work as intended.

Build a new version of SRTReverse. Solved a problem with opening multiple srt subtitle files.

Oh shoot, forgot about win defender. It is not a virus. It is an Autoit script made into an .exe. For more info see https://www.autoitscript.com/site/autoit/
I have included the script so you can check the code and or build the .exe yourself. I think even when you build it on your system, win defender will complain. You can make an exception in win defender to run the script. -
You have actually just solved my problem. Although my blu ray player does not support PGS as a seperate file, it does support VOBSUB (the dvd iteration), so I exported my subtitles as VOBSUB and it works amazingly well in hebrew. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your work, I appreciate it a lot. Although the VOBSUB works I am still curious to give it a try -
Glad you could solve the issue with Vobsub. And yes, that's correct. Most manufacturers or professional don't accept the .SUP format because it is not a totally accurate representation of the packets in the transport stream. But you could mux your video and the SUP file with tsmuxer and that should work on your BD player.
