I'm encoding h264 mp4 with Xmedia recode.
I'm using 2 pass encoding with the slower preset.
When i started the job it was running at about 55fps.....over the last 30mins its dropped to about 16fps and its still dropping. (with the remaning time that has slowly go from about 2 hours to now its saying just over 9 hours.
Is this normal for the fps to drop like that or is something wrong?
It's a brand new Ryzen 3 laptop i'm using.
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays!

Mobile CPUs can easily reduce their clock frequency to avoid overheating. Laptops usually have rather bad cooling, compared to a desktop/tower PC. In general, laptops are not very suitable for jobs with high power consumption and CPU utilization, like video conversion.

OK...as long as i can leave it running over night and it'll do video conversion i'll be happy.
